Two volumes in green cloth binding with gold decoration and lettering. The exterior is very good except Volume viii has a small area of color loss likely due to silverfish; otherwise both volumes (viii,ix) show minimal wear. Internally, Clean, has a good binding, no marks or notations. This is a two Volume set Parts 1&2 of the insects of Alaska originally published by the Harriman Alaska Expedition with the Washington Academy of Sciences in 1899, but has now been transferred to the Smithsonian Institution and reprinted in 1910. Part 1 has 238 pages including an index; part 2 has 284 pages including an index. There are numerous plates throughout both parts. This is an expansive compendium of information on the insects found in Alaska. Two volumes complete which will be packaged professionally in a box and shipped promptly. A rare set.
