Two volume set from 1890. No dust jacket. Navy cloth boards are good with some rubbing and fraying at spine ends. Bindings are good. Gilding on top page edges are lightly worn. Used bookplates on front pastedowns of both volumes, and a name and date in pen on front endpapers of both as well. Frontispiece portrait in volume one of George Washington with tissue overlay is in good condition. First 14 pages of text in volume one have an area on outer edge that is buckled and torn, possibly from page separation error in manufacturing. Text area is not affected. Pages in both volumes are clean and unmarked, with toning. LO.
